Today driving home from Walmart I saw 4 Jeep Renegades, each one a diffent color, one a Trailhawk, and two of them having a few modifications, and I liked them all. How ever I also say a Ford EcoSport, and two Buick Encores. The Renegade is the Mk1 Golf of crossovers.
I having driven none of these I’m basing my opinion purely on aesthetics, and the Jeeps marginally better offroadiness. But still for the sake of those who have to look at your car, if you’re going to buy a sub-Compact CUV buy a Renegade. The new Compass is quite lovely as well. Even in base trim
In conclusion please don’t buy a Buick SUV of any kind, they all look horrid and aren’t Sportbacks, or wagons.
In unrelated news I’ve had a few drinks and FINALLY bought FallOut 4. I sprung for the GOYT Edition. It just finished downloading. I am excitement.

my sister leased a new Compass a few months ago and it’s infinitely better than the previous Compass generation it replaced. Similar in name only. She went from a Prius to this and is happier with it

My wife just got a Renegade for a rental while her car is getting the collision damaged fixed. It’s bright yellow like that one. I’ve yet to get a good look at it but so far she reports that the radio sucks and it (shockingly) doesn’t have the power of her G37.

My wife also bought an ‘18. It was the perfect size upgrade for her, coming from a Fiat 500L. Not too big to be unwieldy in parking lots, but usefully larger and much quieter.

The Renegade is the perfect entry-level Jeep for childless singles or couples. It’s deliciously stylish yet still very functional. And it can be had in very capable Trailhawk trim.

We dodged a bullet with the Renegade.
Piglet was in the bodyshop having the rear bumper and light cluster looked at after some delivery driver decided to scrape along the rear of our car.
A person from Enterprise came to pick us up to take us to their premises. It was only a five mile drive but looking at all the tacky Jeep logos dotted about the upholstery, door bins, centre console not to mention the seating position was bolt upright in the rear with little legroom, high window line, low roof (for being sat bolt upright in). It was only when we got to the site that we found out we were going to be getting it, but the lady decided to ‘upgrade’ and let the four Americans (two couples) have the Renegade.
Good because that short drive was miserable.
This is what we got in it’s place.
A 2015 Hyundai i30.
Apparently Enterprise don’t know what a Skoda Superb is, when the insurance says, ‘get a like for like vehicle’ while ours was in the shop, these were their suggestions.
Yes, I did clean the car thoroughly before it went back.
You can have the Renegade as the Mk1 Golf of crossovers if you wish, as long as you know, the Mk2 Golf Country is the Mk2 Golf of crossovers.

I’d love a Gold Country. It was decades ahead of its time.

I think FCA have given up on the Renegade in Australia...mind you, the Renegade is not Robinson Crusoe in that department.

If you’re going to get a small CUV get a Kia Soul.

There’s not a lot that’s worse than the old Compass.
